About

Ahmad raced up the career ladder in the automotive systems field, kick-starting his passion with a Bachelor of Science in Electronics & Communications Engineering from the Arab Academy for Science, Technology, and Maritime Transport, Egypt. As an Automotive Senior Systems Engineer at Aptiv, one of the world’s most prominent technology companies, he took the wheel on multiple ground-breaking system projects and delivered them to global customers.

In another life, Ahmad may very well have worked with people instead of cars for a living. The Egyptian engineer has gone of his way to help others in the Arab world, working with a variety of incubators in the region to give budding entrepreneurs a head start in their respective markets. His natural ability to understand people helped him identify where aspiring innovators could grow and collaborate with them to help them achieve their dreams!

The natural leader now feels that he needs to shift gears in his life and focus his scientific acumen toward helping others. “When you are dealing with machines all your life, sometimes you need to stop and assess the impact you have on the people around you,” he said.

About the Project

There are millions of disadvantaged children in the world, including refugees who have limited access to basic education during their early developmental years. Ahmad directed his attentions to their plight after meeting with a dear friend, a psychologist working with Syrian refugees in Egypt. As his friend recounted his experiences, the leader could not help but think of how the Arab world would be losing future scientists, doctors, and even automotive systems engineers like himself.

Alongside his trusted friend, Ahmad developed a learn-through-play strategy that would incorporate a unique way to support learning capacity. To accomplish this, they needed a tool that would not only give them a physical object to play with, but also hold technology that can measure and excite young children.

The Educational Platform Using Electronic Cubes was the result; a technology incorporating a set of physical computerised cubes that communicate and coordinate with each other to bring educational activities to life! According to Ahmad, its library of English and Arabic games will have an adaptive psychoeducational focus, which will work in tandem with the Cubes’ machine learning algorithms to analyse children’s learning patterns that can help in diagnosing early development problems should they arise.

Impact

The inventor plans to distribute the Educational Platform Using Electronic Cubes to schools around the Arab world, providing children aged three to eight with a unique personalised educational tool in what he says are the most crucial years in a child’s development. To the Egyptian, Arab youth are under a lot of stress, especially with the increase of poverty and displacement around the region. Therefore, scaled simple products like Ahmad’s invention can support overcoming difficulties in education and help children to reach their full potential.

It will also make a difference in the lives of their parents. As the invention identifies possible learning disabilities that might need professional care, they will be able to focus on their children’s needs and provide guidance in healthier and more effective ways. Ahmad understands that he could not have chased his dreams without the support of his own parents, and his invention helps other aspiring minds receive the assistance they need.
