The Jury

As a dedicated doctor committed to giving back to her community, Dr. Aisha A. Yousuf wields her considerable expertise in the medical sciences to search for groundbreaking solutions that advance healthcare in her native Qatar – a journey that many Stars of Science contestants will be looking to emulate in their own communities.

Dr. Yousuf is the Medical Director of Reproductive Surgery at Sidra Medicine, a women’s and children’s hospital based in Qatar and a member of Qatar Foundation.  She played a key role in introducing minimally invasive surgeries at the hospital, setting a new standard for women’s healthcare. The Qatari doctor knows firsthand what it takes to introduce new technologies to the market, making her uniquely qualified to advise the show’s top seven innovators as they embark on their innovation journeys.

A fan of Stars of Science, Dr. Yousuf is eager to help Arab innovators realize their potential and impact lives across the Arab world. A fervent advocate of women’s involvement in science, she also hopes that showcasing her story will inspire girls to take up studies in the STEM fields and leave a mark in the world of scientific technology.

Dr. Yousuf was also in the first batch of medical students who graduated from Weill Cornell Medicine – Qatar in 2008.  She went on to complete her obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Michigan Hospital, U.S.A. With an interest in technology and medicine, she sub-specialized in the field of laparoscopy and medical robotics by undertaking a fellowship in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery and pelvic floor reconstruction at St. Michael’s Hospital in Toronto, Canada.
